FILE: Ian White

Ian has taught at the college for over 26 years lecturing in accounting mostly at Higher National qualification level.

He is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) having qualified at Napier University in 1992. He is a past President of ACCA Scotland having served on various committees within ACCA for a number of years. Until very recently was a member of the Glasgow and West of Scotland member’s network. He served on the Glasgow and West of Scotland member’s network for ACCA over a number of years. He completed his Teaching Qualification in Further Education 1999/2000 from Strathclyde University Jordanhill Campus.

Prior to qualifying as an accountant he spent over 10 years in Local Government with Borders Regional Council within the finance department leaving to go to Napier as a Senior Accountancy Assistant.
He is a member of Education Institute of Scotland – Further Education Lecturers’ Association Education and Equalities Sub-committee and Salaries and Conditions of Service sub-committee. He recently was elected as Branch Secretary for Dumfries and Galloway College.

Ian joined the Board of Management as elected teaching staff member in August 2015 and was re-elected in August 2019. Ian is a member of the Audit Committee and the Learning & Teaching Committee.
