British Sign Language Plan

The British Sign Language (Scotland) Act 2015 requires public bodies in Scotland to publish plans every six years, showing how they will promote and support BSL. This is our first Shared BSL Local Plan developed in partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council, NHS Dumfries and Galloway and Police Scotland V Division. 

We’ve held three public events to gather the views of local people who have BSL as their first or preferred language, and these events have shaped our plan.
