FILE: Malcolm MacLeod

Malcolm is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen. He is currently Senior Deputy Principal at the University of Stirling where he has responsibility for the management, resourcing, and strategic direction of the university. He is also a Professor of Experimental Psychology. His research focusses on the mechanisms that control memory retrieval, and how these interplay with the social and physical world around us. He has held a number of senior management positions including Provost of St Leonard’s College, and Vice Principal for Enterprise and External Relations at the University of St Andrews where he spent most of his career.

He is the academic lead for the University of Stirling on the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Regional Deal, and is passionate about the role of universities and colleges as drivers for economic and social change. Malcolm is currently a member of the Scottish Land Commission’s Leadership Taskforce on Derelict and Unused Land, the Clackmannanshire Commission, and a board member and trustee of various companies, organisations and trusts, including Stirling Court Hotel Services.

Malcolm was appointed to the Board of Management in March 2021, and is currently a member of the Learning and Teaching Committee and Audit Committee.
